There aren’t many other places left in Prague that you’d describe as part of the city’s bustling center. Yet Vodičkova Street is home to several spots where you’ll find perfect tranquility. The cool places we’re talking about aren’t clubs or bars, but rather very pleasant restaurants, galleries, and shops.
The Most Beautiful Garden Restaurant in Prague
Vodičkova 35 hides a perfect oasis of tranquility where you’ll also be surrounded by nature—and great food. The aptly named restaurant Garden’s features a spacious courtyard garden where you can escape the hustle of trams and noisy crowds while enjoying a wonderful meal. The menu, created by head chef Michal Šorf, is diverse but primarily inspired by Italian and French cuisine. Be sure not to miss the desserts crafted by pastry chef Radek Čejka, who draws on the best of both Czech and French pastry traditions. You can visit in any weather—the restaurant, of course, also has an indoor (no less charming) section.

Once you’ve had a hearty meal and recharged your batteries in the garden, you can set out in search of art. The Langhans Palace is home to a one-of-a-kind project: Nookart Studio. Eliška Hradec Chomisteková and Michaela Němečková have transformed a residential space into an unusual gallery where art feels right at home. Literally. Forget the austere atmosphere of traditional galleries; here, you’ll feel more like you’re visiting a very stylish apartment adorned with the most intriguing works of art. The studio thus serves not only art lovers who want to come and admire the pieces, but also collectors who want to see how a selected work will look in a home setting. Just don’t forget that you can visit by appointment—simply message the studio via Instagram, or book your time slot directly through the online form.

The Best French Wines
A pleasant spot for a final business meeting and an even better place for an evening glass of wine.
At Vodičkova 17, you’ll find the rather unassuming wine bar Bouvard & Péchuchet. It offers an incredibly wide selection of French wines from smaller family-run wineries as well as French delicacies, but also a very pleasant, intimate atmosphere that you’ll find very hard to leave. In the summer, there’s also a surprisingly peaceful outdoor seating area. Jakmile se pořádně najíte a načerpáte síly v zahradě, můžete vyrazit za uměním. V paláci Langhans se nachází ojedinělý projekt, kterým je Nookart Studio. Eliška Hradec Chomisteková a Michaela Němečková tu z bytového prostoru vytvořily neobvyklou galerii, v níž je umění jako doma. Doslova. Zapomeňte na strohou atmosféru tradičních galerií, tady se budete cítit spíš jako na návštěvě ve velmi stylovém bytu, který zdobí ta nejzajímavější umělecká díla. Studio tak slouží nejen fanouškům umění, kteří se chtějí přijít pokochat, ale i sběratelům, kteří chtějí vidět, jak bude vybrané dílo fungovat v domácím prostředí. Stylish Secondhand
The fact that Vodičkova Street is getting a new lease on life is also evidenced by the move of one of Prague’s best vintage clothing shops from Vinohrady right here. Lucie Kratochvílová’s store, Lula Vintage Prague, can now be found in the Hlávka Houses, with their First Republic charm that perfectly complements the curated selection of fashion pieces whose quality has stood the test of time.
