A Very Elegant Classic Among all the bistros and cafés, Dejvická 34 stands out like a revelation. It opened in 2019, when bistros were popping up everywhere in the neighborhood like mushrooms after rain. That’s one of the reasons why the owners, together with head chef Tomáš Černý, decided to open a completely classic restaurant. Here you’ll enjoy Italian cuisine with Mediterranean influences, since Tomáš learned his craft from the very best Italian chefs, such as Vito Mollica and Riccardo Lucque.
All-Day Breakfast Do you also get a kick out of being able to order eggs in a glass or pancakes—even for lunch? At the café Vejce Dejvice, they truly serve breakfast all day long, but they also have a lunch menu, and you can even stop by for dinner. The eggs here come exclusively from Czech farms where the hens are free-range.
A Little Piece of France in Dejvice Jean-Charles Berger, the head chef and owner of Bistro à Table, is a native Parisian, so it’s easy to imagine the atmosphere of this place and what the local menu will offer. For breakfast, you can enjoy a traditional croque-monsieur; for lunch, try escargot or frog legs; and for dinner, we recommend the mussels. In addition to the regular menu, they always offer seasonal delicacies, such as a duck burger or fresh oysters. Of course, there’s also an extensive selection of high-quality French wines.
Check out Šodó
Just at the beginning of this year, Šodó Bistro opened on Wuchterlova Street. It’s run by Jan and Zuzana Valent from the Taste of Prague culinary project, and the experienced owners of Etapa in Karlín helped with both the opening and the overall concept. That alone is a clear guarantee of quality. It’s a tiny spot, so they don’t take reservations. But you can stop by for coffee, breakfast, lunch, or even a glass of wine. And of course, they have buchtičky se šodó on the menu—and true to their motto, you really can add a dollop of wine cream.

The Real Asia
Although it’s located right on Hradčanská Street, you’ll feel as if you’ve suddenly been transported to Asia. The ultra-modern interior features typical red accents, neon lights, and flowers everywhere… And just wait until you taste the local food. The new ĂN Bistro & Cafe is run by a Vietnamese family, so you can count on the authenticity of the local cuisine. Try, for example, their new offering—the Japanese pancake okonomiyaki—or perhaps some iced cocoa.
A Dejvická Classic
Kavárna Místo is already an absolute Dejvická classic. It’s popular for its pleasant, spacious, and airy interior, as well as a menu that offers classics like an English breakfast or pancakes, but you can also enjoy a sandwich with truffle mayonnaise, a vegan bowl, or French toast for breakfast. And of course, you can stop by for lunch, too.
A bistro and wine bar in one
We’re used to the fact that the Na břehu Rhôny establishments have always been, first and foremost, very pleasant wine bars. In Bubeneč, right next to the classic little Rhôna with its boudoir, there’s also a bistro. It offers a weekly menu and a Menu du Chef for the more discerning, but you can also choose from the regular menu. Wednesdays here are always reserved for oysters.

A Stylish Place for a Beer
If you’re wondering where to go for a beer, or if you’re a meat lover, you definitely can’t miss Automat Matuška. They serve Matuška beer on tap, offer dishes prepared in a smoker, and host Dejvice-style barbecues right here. Sometimes a DJ plays, and they even brew unconventional beer experiments. “Going for a beer” simply takes on a whole new dimension here.
The Best Ice Cream
It goes without saying that Créme de la Créme is among the best ice cream shops in Prague. The great news is that they also have a branch in Dejvice. It’s called Zmrzlinárna Pod Kaštany, and here, too, you can sample delicious creamy ice creams, as well as fruit sorbets and vegan varieties. And you can enjoy them in a very charming setting.
The First Aquaponic Bistro
Great news for everyone who loves to try something new in the world of food: Prague’s first aquaponic bistro has opened at Kulaťák. It’s called Rybí zahrada and operates like a classic takeout window—but they won’t be serving you ordinary fast food. The window serves carp fries, fish tortillas, and catfish strips.
