Their representatives will vote in the new category by selecting finalists and winners from across the other categories covering both private and public interiors. Some of the editors-in-chief will even attend the ceremony on 14 May 2024 to present the awards in person at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague. The list of publications includes, for example, the Swedish magazine RESIDENCE, the Italian magazines Casa Facile and Ville & Casali, the Danish magazine RUM, and others. The creators of the winning interior will receive a light installation designed by Kateřina Handlová, as will the winners of the other categories.

The design of the award is created by a different designer each year. Following in the footsteps of previous years’ designers – Rony Plesl, Václav Mlynář, Jakub Pollág and Boris Klimek – this task has been taken on by Kateřina Handlová, art director at the Rückl glassworks. She has created two superb collections for Rückl – HERO.INE and Spirit – and is also the designer behind successful lighting fixtures for the BOMMA glassworks. In the past, she has worked for companies such as Lasvit in Dubai and Swarovski in Innsbruck.

The Interior of the Year award is presented under the patronage of the Chair of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the City of Prague and the Mayor of Prague 7.
Architects and interior designers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia can enter the ninth edition of the Interior of the Year awards until 28 February 2024. The winners will be announced at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague on Tuesday 14 May 2024.
