Want to live in the heart of the city, yet have not only great coffee shops, the best restaurants, and a bakery just around the corner within easy reach, but also plenty of green space? Staré Vršovice meets all these criteria. In addition to Heroldovy sady, the much larger Grébovka Park is also nearby.
The historicist and Art Nouveau architecture of the local buildings evokes the tranquility of days gone by, and a pleasant walk will take you all the way to the villa district in Vinohrady, where you can admire the famous villas. The Čapek brothers, for example, once lived here—their street is named after them today, and their former semi-detached house can be found at numbers 28 and 30.

But back to Vršovice and the present day. Although living here will always carry charming elements of the past thanks to the beautiful historic buildings, you’re also in a part of Prague where you’re surrounded at every turn by the most stylish spots in the city.
You can start your day here, for example, with a walk to grab fresh coffee and breakfast at the renowned Coffee Corner Bakery, or the French bakery Le Caveau. If you prefer traditional pastries like grandma used to make, stop by the bakery Kus koláče for a slice of cake.

Time for Meetings and Get-Togethers with Friends
You’ll always look forward to work meetings here, because they’ll take place in amazing cafes like The Flat Cafe or Tvoje máma. When the morning smoothly transitions into lunchtime, you can head over to, say, Mistro Bistro—with an interior designed by the architects at Olgoj Chorchoj—or L’Olivier. If you happen to be in a hurry, just grab a coffee to go at Coffee Source Francouzská or Botanica Coffee Truck. But be sure not to forget to treat yourself—or the person you’re rushing to meet—to at least a small bouquet of flowers. You’ll find this coffee truck in the courtyard of a building that houses a fantastic flower shop.
For dinner, you might want to venture a bit beyond Vršovice—especially if you’re a meat lover—and grab a steak or burger at Stejkárna. If you’re craving something special, we recommend visiting Benjamin Fine Dining. Seated at a round table, you’ll enjoy a unique eight-course tasting menu in the company of just a few other guests. Culture, Then a Drink
If you haven’t yet decided which spot to try first when you head out for a drink, Vršovice will definitely tempt you into a wild bar crawl. For beer, head to Bad Flash Bar Krymská, which offers the best beers from around the world. For a beer, you can also head to Korunní Street in Vinohrady to the Vinohrady Brewery. For wine, pop-up events featuring local brands, occasional exhibitions, and concerts, stop by Koncept 0. And for that promised drink? The Flat Cafe serves up fantastic drinks. Gin lovers, in particular, will enjoy it here. They offer a selection of both British classics and Czech-produced gin.
But don’t forget that Vršovice isn’t just about eating, drinking, and enjoying life—it’s also close to cultural attractions. So before you grab a drink, you can stop by Kino Pilotů or the Vršovice Mana Theater. If you prefer sports, check to see if there’s a game going on at “Ďolíček,” the Bohemians soccer stadium.
