A Taste of Ireland
A Czech couple fell in love with Great Britain and wanted to introduce its flavours to a Czech audience. That’s why the quintessentially British Arthur’s Pub opened in Karlín last year. Here, you can enjoy Guinness on tap, sip Scotch whisky and sample traditional British dishes, including festive fare. The menu is mainly inspired by the west of Ireland, where fish and oysters are eaten in abundance and which is a mecca for fine-dining restaurants. You can also enjoy a traditional English breakfast here. The modern British style is also reflected in the very cosy interior.

Ice-cream sandwiches
If you’re in the mood for something sweet but aren’t quite sure what you’d like, pop into Parlor Café for some ‘parlors’. These are ice-cream sandwiches that you can put together exactly to your taste. Different flavours of ice cream are sandwiched between various types of biscuits. First, you choose your biscuit – each one can have a different flavour. Then you add the ice cream, which at Parlor Café is sourced from Créme de la Créme, and finish it off with a topping. So if you’re not sure whether you’d prefer a fruit, chocolate or perhaps caramel dessert, at the Parlor you can have it all at once. And you can even use olive oil or fig balsamic vinegar as a topping.
Avocado takes centre stage
Did you know that Křižíkova Street is also home to Prague’s first avocado restaurant? Avocado is the perfect food: it’s incredibly filling, tastes great and is packed with nutrients. And in the world of gastronomy, it can be used in so many different ways. Come and see for yourself at the Avocado Gang restaurant.

The Kingdom of Wine
There’s beauty in simplicity, especially when you can sip the finest wine far and wide whilst doing so. That’s roughly how you could describe the atmosphere at the Veltlin wine bar, where you can sample natural, authentic wines. Not sure which one to choose? Ask for advice. The staff know everything there is to know about wine, and what’s more, they know all the winemakers whose products they offer personally. It’s well worth asking for advice, even if you’re a wine connoisseur. The Veltlin staff’s tales about the individual wines will perfectly round off your enjoyable experience.

The best coffee in Karlín
Although it hasn’t been in Karlín for long, EMA espresso bar has long since found a place in the hearts of coffee lovers – thanks to its branches in Florenc and Palmovka. So it comes as no surprise that EMA on Křižíkova also offers the finest speciality coffee and delicious pastries. An added bonus of the Karlín branch is its modern, Scandinavian-style interior, further enhanced by a mural designed by Lumír Kajnar, based on the original works of Václav Dlouhý, which he created for ČKD in the 1960s–1980s.
