About the project
The history of Vrsovice and the settlement of Vrsovice itself dates back to the time when the first princely family settled in Vysehrad, ie to the time of the founding document of the Vysehrad Chapter in 1088. The defunct fortress was replaced by Vrsovický zámeček, as well as the Koh-i-noor industrial area from the beginning of the 20th century, which diversifies the architectural color of Vrsovice.
The history of the magnificent Vrsovice promenade dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. It will amaze beautiful Art Nouveau houses or even houses mixing Art Nouveau with Art Nouveau. The plasticity of the houses in this street with many bay windows, balconies and turrets has little equivalent not only in Prague, but also in European cities. In the number of towers and turrets, balconies, bay windows, decorative elements and decorations, some of Vrsovice's streets boldly match even the famous Parizska.
The national motifs of the Vrsovice houses alternate with inscriptions that are supposed to give them worldliness. An example is the houses bearing the inscriptions Washington&Chicago, combining historicism with Art Nouveau, designed by architect Edvard Paroubek. The famous architect Oskar Polivka, co-author of the Municipal House, left his manuscript on houses in the style of the National Art Nouveau, decorated with rich stucco decor, patriotic motifs and even national inscriptions. House number 6 thus bears the inscription "Faithful of our love", building number 8 again bears the inscription "Where is my home". It also gave the appearance of a beautiful purely Art Nouveau house No. 11 in Kodanská Street.
In Vrsovice, you can browse the mysterious streets with romantic nooks, enjoy the elegance of classy boulevards, but also relax in parks that offer peace and relaxation. Havlickovy sady, or the popular Grebovka park, with its views and mature vineyards, offers a charming environment in the summer months for a number of leisure activities, street food festivals or occasional concerts and exhibitions. The romantic Grotta Cave serves as an alternative cultural scene and a popular wedding venue.
Vrsovice is also home to alternative cafes and restaurants, which will pleasantly surprise and excite you with their intimacy, imaginativeness and diversity of the menu.
